The library is more than just books!
We offer many other, mostly free, services to our community.

Public Notary

There are multiple librarians on staff who are Public Notaries with the State of Missouri.  We recommend calling the library before stopping in, but generally we have notaries available 9-5 throughout the week.
This is a free service.

Test Proctoring

Taking an online class that requires a test to be proctored?  We can do that!  Please call the library at 573-682-2036 to set up your exam time.  (You will need to give your instructor our contact info as well so they can send us the exam via mail or online.)

Computers

The library currently has 7 adult computers, 5 teen computers, and 2 AWE early literacy stations available for use.  Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parental approved form on file with the library.  1-on-1 computer help is available by request (30 minute increments). It must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance, in order to ensure adequate staffing.

Copies, scans, and faxes

Print or Copy in Black & White: $0.25 per page
You must add money to your library card print account before the computers will allow you to print. Any money you add to your print account will stay with your account until you have spent it all or asked for a refund of the remaining amount.
Color Copies: $0.50 per page
Please note that when copying from an original photo or flier, the reproduction colors may not be exact or quite as dark as the original. For more professional copies of color documents, you would need to make your copies at a company with photo quality copying. The library has limited capabilities when copying color documents, particularly photos. Color copies can also be printed from your original file, in order to have a higher quality end product, though some colors may appear different, depending on how compatible your design is with our copier’s color sequence (CMYK).
Fax: $0.50 per page
Fax cover sheets may be requested at the front desk, and they will be faxed with your document at no additional charge. Please allow for adequate time for your fax to process and a confirmation sheet to print. The process is not instantaneous and can be slowed down by how fast the fax machine on the receiving end responds to our system.
Scan: Free for small projects!

Librarians can scan short documents (1-20 pages long) and will email them to you (or put them on your jump drive) at no cost. Large, time-consuming scanning project must be performed elsewhere, due to our small staff size, limited scanning abilities and time restraints.
Outreach Services
Daycares:
Centralia Public Library is happy to deliver books to daycares monthly. We can also have our Youth Services Librarian, Cait, stop by for a storytime.  Please contact the library to set either of these up.
Homebound:  The staff of the library will deliver books to any medically homebound patrons living within the Centralia City limits.
Large Print Materials & Services
The library has several shelves of large print materials available for easier reading.
These resources are designated with a sticker on the spine that reads LP.
If we do not have the book you want in Large Print, please inquire about the possibility of using
Interlibrary Loan to borrow the item from another Missouri Library.
Wolfner State Library
Qualifying individuals can also make use of the Wolfner State Library Large Print books,
along with options such as Talking Books, Braille Books, sheet music, Descriptive DVDs,
print-braille board and card games for all ages, and the Racing to Read Early Literacy Program.
Items are mailed directly to your residence from Wolfner.
