Clothing & Craft Swaps

Fall Women's Clothing Swap

How the Clothing Swap came to be:  Librarian Leah had the idea pop into her head in the Summer of 2018.  A week later, Director Amy mentioned something about a possible clothing swap.  Leah replied "Absolutely!  I'll organize and run it."  Ta-da!  Clothing Swap.

Hahaha, but that's really how it went.  We love finding new ways to serve our community, and this seemed to fit the bill, so we ran with it!  Turns out people love it, so we've continued it.  It helps people clear their closets of items they are no longer wearing AND puts new-to-them items back into their closet for them to enjoy!  Plus, any items remaining unclaimed once the swap is over are up-for-grabs for anyone who might need them. :)

How does this work?
Swap up to 30 clothing items + 10 accessories with other women in the community.  You register for the event, bring your clothes and accessories in to the library on the specified collection dates, we organize everything, you shop.  No money involved!
Each item you bring means an item you can take!  (Ex: Bring in 16 clothing items + 3 accessories = 19 total items.)
Your item number is good for clothing and accessories.  If you want to bring in 12 shirts and leave with 3 pairs of pants, 7 shirts, and 2 accessories, more power to yah!

Have clothes & accessories to donate, but do not want to shop the Swap?
Go ahead and click the registration form, then select “Donating only”.    (We can accept up to 30 items for sizes S, 2X & 3X, up to 20 items for size M, and up to 10 items for sizes L & XL.  For accessories, we will accept up to 10 items.  Please see below for items we accept, thanks!)
.
What sizes are accepted?
Women’s Small through 3X (2-26,)  ALL SEASONS.
What clothing items can I swap?
Gently used:
  • Shirts/Blouses – Sweaters/Cardigans - Sweatshirts
  • Pants – Jeans - Shorts – Skirts
  • Dresses (no formals, please!)
  • Panther-, Mizzou-, KC Royals/Chiefs-, and Cardinals-wear (Limit: 10 items)
  • Workout wear (ex: UnderArmour, yoga pants, leggings, etc)
What accessories can I swap?
  • Scarves
  • Purses/wallets/totes
  • Necklaces
  • Bracelets/rings
  • Earrings  (MUST be in a clear plastic bag or punched through a piece of cardstock so they stay together. Thanks!)

CPL would like for this to be a nice event where you can find great gently used items!  Our goal is to put items in your closet that you can wear out with friends & family, to work, or on a date with your spouse.

We WILL NOT accept:
X  T-shirts (We’re talking the old frayed college tee, the random 5K one you got for free, etc.)
X  Shoes
X  Undergarments
X  Swimsuits
X  Anything with a rip/hole*, stain, or heavy fading
*If the item is purposely distressed, it is permitted.  Ex: jeans with distressing.
Register to swap!
