Dear Patrons,
I know that it's been awhile since we've had a book discussion and we at the library want to solve that problem. As you know, we have started up a new book club here at the library. The name of our club is the GenRe (Generation of Readers) Book Club. We want to make a new beginning in this community of encouraging readers and would like you to be a part of this.
Let me give you a little information about the book club. We will be meeting on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. The book discussions will be every third month (next one will be June 25th). On the days that we don't have a discussion, we will talk about books we've read and maybe talk about plans for the book club and what we'd like to do in the future. What I would like to encourage is for us to plan a year in advance so that we can take advantage of the program that Mid-Continent Library in Independence provides to book clubs (they will loan out any books on their list for book discussions). The Adult Services dept. at Mid-Continent Library says that if we give them a list of books that we would like to discuss, they will make sure that they are available when we need them.
So, on behalf of the library, we would like to invite you to join the GenRe Book Club and be a part of a group of people that love to read!
Sincerely,
Trish Admire
